for debugging, you might just want to try with a full
openbsd build (or a machine with a disk) and then, once
it's working, try the stripped BSD.
Trying to fight two things at once (PPPoE and a stripped
down machine) just makes it harder.
Then you can run PPPoE and PoE on the same machine :)
